I served as a researcher and assistant producer on a short documentary examining the impact of China’s infamous One Child Policy as well as the chain of fertility policy shifts on women, families, and healthcare access. My work involved conducting background research on demographic trends, gathering interview data from doctors and citizens, and assisting in the development of interview questions and documentary narrative structure.

The documentary was uploaded on Red Note and Wechat Channels, Chinese social media sites, exploring the social and emotional dimensions behind national policy. Through this project, I learned how storytelling and research can come together to humanize public health issues and turn statistics into lived experiences.
