International Thespians Society

Role:
2025 President, 2024 Historian

Time:
2022-2026

The International Thespian Society has been the home of my theatre journey since joining in freshman year. A community where passion, leadership, and community all meet. I’ve dedicated over 1,000 hours to theatre and earned 100+ Thespian points, but more than that, I’ve built a family of theatre enthusiasts.

As Historian and now President of Troupe 6812, I documented and celebrated our troupe’s growth while organizing events like the Fringe Festival and Oscar Night, keeping the spirit of performance alive even beyond the stage. I focused on expanding our community, growing our membership to over 50 active students in High school and finding ways to showcase original student work.

This year, I’m leading preparations for Shanghai’s first international school 48-Hour Play Competition, an event that will bring together student artists from across the city to produce, rehearse, and perform brand-new plays within two days. Beyond festivals, I’ve also led outreach projects such as a holiday performance at Jiahui Hospital, where Thespians collaborated with the Pulse Service Club to bring music, warmth, and connection to patients during Christmas.

Over the years, I’ve represented SAS at the APAC Theatre Festival for three consecutive seasons, performing in Daejeon (Korea), Kobe (Japan), and Guangzhou (China), and participated in the ISTA Deep dive into Balinese Theatre Workshop in Bali, where I deepened my understanding of physical and cultural performance.
